Snow Queen here! Winter is my favorite time of year! Ice skating, snow forts, and of course my favorite little snowman make this season so magical! While there are so many fun parts of winter, the season can also be so cold…Thankfully, I have so many loved ones who warm my heart and my home throughout the cold winter months. However, some friends are not as fortunate and rely on the kind hearts of others to help keep them warm.
Some people live homeless on the streets or in shelters, they struggle to find their next meal, and in the winter months the weather makes it difficult for them to stay warm. What if we could share the love in our hearts with them? Our love and kindness surely would make their hearts warmer, but we can also share warm clothes to help their bodies brave against winter’s cold.
You can help by donating new or gently used winter clothes to shelters. If you don’t have a shelter near you, feel free to create your own collection/drop off location! Once you’ve gathered your warm clothes, pass them out to those in need! For a fun way to give back to the homeless in your community, you could even tie scarves to trees as a snuggly surprise!
Items commonly needed include:
- Hats
- Gloves
- Coats (like a warm hug you can wear!)
- Scarves
- Mittens
- New Socks
- Sanitary Items (toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, etc.)
Share the love in your heart this winter and help others stay warm! Give a warm hug with some warm clothes!
