Our Amulet Princess enjoyed a nice visit with the elderly citizens in her kingdom this month. Many of them had stories to share and words of wisdom to pass on. Visiting with the elderly showed Amulet Princess that some of our most important values are within us because they are passed down through generations. Living a life filled with compassion, honesty, loyalty, and grace is something we learn from those who came before us and their experiences.

This month our Amulet Princess encourages you to visit with, and do something special for, the elderly in your community! All you have to do is look up where your nearest senior center or senior living community is, call ahead to let someone know you’re coming, and ask when the best time to visit would be. If you choose to just visit, that’s great, but you can also choose to drop off a care package!

             Items to fill your care package:

• • Kind notes for the residents
  • New or gently used books, DVD’s, and games
  • Treats like popcorn and candy for a movie night!
  • Blankets
  • Holiday decorations
  • Dog treats!

*The sky is the limit! You can get as creative as you would like and everything listed above is an example to help get you started.

Amulet Princess knows it can be a little nerve-wracking to get to know someone new so she put down a few sample questions to ask!
